Measure Existing Ring

Use a ring that fits perfectly on the intended finger. Measure the inside diameter in millimeters and compare it to our chart.

String Method

Use string or paper to measure your finger circumference. This is a simple and effective method for getting a close estimate at home.

Method 1: Measure an Existing Ring

This is a reliable method if you have a ring that already fits the intended finger well. Follow the steps carefully for an accurate reading.

How to Measure

  1. Select a ring that fits the intended finger perfectly.
  2. Place the ring on a ruler or measuring tape.
  3. Measure the inside diameter in millimeters.
  4. Use the chart above to find your corresponding size.

Important Tips

  • Measure at the widest point inside the ring.
  • Ensure the ring is perfectly round and not bent or misshapen.
  • If you find yourself between two sizes, always choose the larger size.

Method 2: String or Paper Method

  1. Cut String/Paper

Cut a strip of paper or a piece of non-stretchy string about 10cm long and 5mm wide.

  2. Wrap Around Finger

Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger. It should be firm but not uncomfortably tight.

  3. Mark the Overlap

Carefully mark where the paper or string overlaps with a pen to get the circumference.

  4. Measure Length

Unwrap and measure the length from the start to your mark in millimeters using a ruler.

  5. Find Your Size

Use the "Circumference (mm)" column in the chart above to find your corresponding ring size.

Expert Sizing Tips

Temperature Matters

Fingers shrink in cold weather and expand when warm. For the most accurate measurement, ensure your hands are at a comfortable, normal room temperature.

Best Time to Measure

Measure in the late afternoon or evening when your fingers are at their largest. Avoid measuring in the morning as fingers can be smaller due to overnight fluid retention.

When in Doubt, Size Up

If your measurement falls between two sizes, it's always safer to choose the larger size. It is much easier for a jeweler to size a ring down than to size it up.
